We hope these steps will be helpful in getting your garbage disposal back up and running!

If you continue to experience problems, please submit a maintenance request through the portal.

Reset the Garbage Disposal:

  1. Turn off the power switch for the garbage disposal. This is important to ensure your safety while working on the device.
  2. Look for the reset button on the bottom of the garbage disposal. Usually, this button is located at the bottom of the device near the motor.
  3. Press the reset button. Make sure to hold it down for a few seconds to ensure that the reset process is completed properly.
  4. Turn on the power switch for the garbage disposal.
  5. Turn on the water and turn on the garbage disposal to check that it has been reset successfully.

If the Reset Button Does Not Work:

  1. Check if the GFCI outlet has tripped. If it has tripped, the reset button will not work until you reset the GFCI outlet first.
  2. Find the GFCI outlet in your kitchen or bathroom. It's usually the outlet with two small buttons labeled "test" and "reset."
  3. Press the "reset" button firmly until it clicks.
  4. Go back to the garbage disposal and press the reset button as previously instructed.
  5. Turn on the power switch for the garbage disposal.
  6. Turn on the water and turn on the garbage disposal to check that it has been reset successfully.
  7. You may need to try the reset button again if the GFCI has not been reset.
